Home away from home – A Staycation at the LAX Marriott

As you may know I live in Orange County but I spend most of my time in and out of LA trying to navigate through one of the worst traffic in the US. LA traffic is no joke but I love the city and my work requires me to be there. So staying in for the the weekend is the perfect idea and a guaranteed productive and fun weekend.

This past weekend I had the opportunity to stay at the LAX Marriott Hotel. Gabe and I packed our bags and drove on a Friday night to LA. The hotel is conveniently located less than 1 miles from the Los Angeles Airport which makes such an easy choice for booking an overnight stay to catch red eyes or a flight during rush hour.

We stayed in the Executive Suite and boy was it roomy. We immediately felt right home. One of my favorite part was having 3 restaurants inside the hotel. And how about there is also a Starbucks. There is really no need to leave the hotel because everything you need is right inside the property.

We were tired and had absolutely zero desires to leave and explore that night so we enjoyed the most delicious appetizers and drinks at Hangar 18. No pictures but I promise you its a must. The following morning we were up early and excited to enjoy Breakfast at Social Market + Eatery. They had buffet option and a la cart menu. I am not a big fan of buffets but this one was excellent.

We finally left out hotel that afternoon to explore around the city. Being a content creator LA gives me so much creativity. We took our car and in a few minutes we were in Marina Del Rey area and later Venice Beach. If we lived this close I would be in heaven.

To end the day we made dinner reservations at the JW’s Steakhouse. We enjoyed the most delicious steaks in an open-kitchen environment. We also got a chance to try some wine off their award-winning “Wine Spectator” wine list. This was by far the most memorable experiences of our stay. Gabe and I went to the beautiful lobby with our wine and sat and talked about life for hours.

We are not moving to LA anytime soon but next time we fly out of LAX or we need to stay for business this is the place I want to stay in.
